Meet Nicci Wood, design and sustainability expert in the flooring industry
Having recently partnered with The Andrews Group to represent BOLON flooring in Western Australia, we sit down with Nicci Wood, Owner | Consultant of Nicci Wood Agency to discuss her inspirations, views on trends shaping the design industry, and approach to collaborating with architects and designers.
What inspired you to join The Andrews Group | Bolon partner, and what do you hope to achieve in your new role?
I was drawn to The Andrews Group and Bolon due to their commitment to sustainability and innovation in interior design. I believe that high-performance products can coexist with environmental responsibility. My goal is to enhance our relationships with designers and architects, ensuring they have the resources and support to integrate Bolon sustainable flooring solutions into their projects seamlessly.
How do you see sustainability influencing commercial design in Australia?
Sustainability is increasingly becoming a key consideration for commercial design in Australia. Clients are more aware of their environmental impact, and they seek products that not only meet aesthetic needs but also adhere to strict sustainability standards. I see a significant opportunity for our sustainable flooring solutions to set a benchmark in the industry, helping designers create spaces that are both stylish and not harmful to the environment.
What Bolon performance benefits do you think will resonate most with architects and interior designers?
The durability and ease of maintenance are standout features that will resonate with professionals in the industry. Bolon offers long-lasting performance and design flexibility, making it easier for designers to create versatile spaces that can adapt over time without compromising on quality.
Can you share your thoughts on collaboration with designers and architects?
Collaboration is crucial in our industry. I believe in fostering strong partnerships with designers and architects to understand their specific design intent for each project. By working closely together, we can provide tailored solutions that not only fulfill design requirements but also promote sustainable practices. I’m excited to engage with architects and designers in Western Australia to explore innovative ways to integrate Bolon into their projects.
What trends do you see shaping the future of commercial spaces, particularly in flooring?
I see a growing trend towards multifunctional spaces that prioritize both aesthetics and functionality. Flooring will play a pivotal role in this evolution, with an emphasis on materials that are sustainable, easy to maintain, and versatile. Additionally, biophilic design elements are gaining traction. I believe Bolon can support these trends by providing beautiful, nature-inspired options that enhance the overall environment of commercial spaces.
For example, Bolon’s most recent collection, Elements is not only inspired by nature but also sets a new benchmark in the industry with 68% recycled content, carbon neutrality, and a transformative vision for circularity. The natural, more subtle tones in the collection delivers versatility and the perfect foundation for great interior spaces.
