Swedish design company BOLON brings their innovative flooring to Sweden’s west cost and its latest modern and sustainable building.
Advokatbyrå Glimstedt, a law firm and the Västsvenska Handelskammaren, the West Sweden Chamber of Commerce, are just two of the many companies located in this Platinum LEED certified building. With stringent green demands in mind, BOLON flooring was a clear choice to be installed throughout these offices.
BOLON’s materials are sourced from approved European suppliers and are passed through refinement plants located less than 250 kilometers from their production facility. Additionally, BOLON products contain 33% recycled materials and hold many internationally-recognised environmental certifications including BREEAM, Green Tag and Floorscore.
Karin Gullbrandtz, head architect from design firm Stylt Trampoli, selected the ‘Silence’ collection for the Handelskammaren office. In addition to its unique ability to create 3D effects and reflect light, ‘Silence’ is 100% free of the softening agent phthalate – an environmental innovation that has been applied to BOLON’s collections since 2014.
Another innovation on display can be seen in the offices of law firm Advokatbyrå Glimstedt. Designed by Gothenburg-based practice Wingårdhs, senior architect Helena Toresson and colleague Anna Mitrolios used BOLON Studio™ shapes and mixed ‘Artisan’ in Slate and Ivory, with ‘Botanic’ in Cilia and Picea – to create a beautiful pattern covering 700 square meters.
We wanted to choose a material that feels modern and youthful, two lead words in our project. The result is just what we wanted.
– Helena Toresson
By fusing exceptional design and sustainable innovations, BOLON and Park49 are definitely leading the way.
