Projects We Love – The Best Of 2019

Lyndhurst Terrace Office

Hong Kong

Jason Caroline Design combined modernity with the aesthetics of local culture in the recent development of a commercial space in the centre of Hong Kong. With a minimal design and distinctive use of pops of colour, Bolon flooring was chosen to complement the design style for a commercial office on the iconic Lyndhurst Terrace.

The impressive and large-scale refurbishment of the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) office in Paramatta’s iconic Octagon building is a project not to miss. The landmark building is marketed as an environmentally sustainable commercial office precinct with a strong focus on low-impact design, connectivity, and inspiring enterprise. With this in mind, Brewster Murray chose Bolon flooring across a range of diverse collections to help define areas in the 12,000 sqm space to accommodate an activity-based working environment over four levels of the Octagon office.

Guildford Disability Housing, NSW, Australia - Botanic Cilia (11)

Guildford Disability Housing

New South Wales, Australia

To meet the Australian Government’s NDIS scheme’s requirements and support greater accessibility, Bolon was chosen for Ability SDA’s recent Disability Housing project and used throughout the apartments in the lounge room, kitchen and bedrooms. Durable, non-slip flooring was required, with consideration given to the ease of maintenance and ability to keep the space hygienic and healthy for residents.

Bolon’s high performance benefits, including durability, ease of maintenance, slip-resistance and superior technical qualities made for the ideal flooring solution for the bustling environment that’s renowned for entertaining guests from dusk until the sun rises.

Mercury Energy, New Zealand (4)

This is design for collaboration and the integration of teams at its best! Warren Mahoney were tasked with relocating and consolidating Auckland’s Mercury employees under one roof, using an agile workstyle across the business. The challenge was to connect Mercury’s 600 staff together – six floor plates over three levels, separated by a central atrium. Bolon flooring features largely across the multi-leveled office and was selected for its woven texture, sustainability credentials and durability benefits.

UNICEF Bangkok, Thailand (11)

UNICEF East Asia & Pacific

Bangkok, Thailand

UNICEF East Asia & Pacific works to protect the rights of millions of children throughout the region. PDM designed the regional office in Bangkok using Bolon flooring in vibrant colours for high traffic walkways, common areas and staircases. The use of Bolon Studio and resulting design flexibility, saw the floor take centre stage and become the feature of the space.
