Solving for different types of workstyles, Designers at The Studio* Collaborative created a space which offers the freedom to work anywhere, with high value thinking and creativity at the forefront. Designed for innovation, collaboration and flexibility, the Westpac Launch Pad in Sydney asks nothing more of occupants than to create; to mimic childlike activities, remove pre conceptions, eliminate the fear of making mistakes, and to unlearn the behaviours that inhibit fresh thinking.
Bolon flooring features throughout the space and was selected to support the versatility of the environment. Its high-performance benefits, including durability, ease of maintenance, acoustic properties and design flexibility, made it the ideal flooring solution for the space.
Introducing Westpac Launch Pad, Sydney
With innovation and creativity in mind, the team at The Studio* Collaborative created a highly flexible space comprised of a series of chambers to shift the mindset into readiness for creation. The entire space can transform from 5 working venture rooms to one large forum space to enable groups to quickly disintegrate and reform with ease.
The unimposing space is positioned for longevity with the possibility to regenerate and reinvent itself through hyper flexible componentry. Bolon flooring supports this by creating a continuous flooring solution whereby the transition between spaces is seamless.

The venture rooms are a blank canvas and ask nothing more of the user other than to create. Visual clutter and technology gimmickry are removed to reveal the potency of absence rather than stimulation. 785m2 of Bolon Flow Pearl Silver and Botanic Viola were chosen for the space to complement the calm aesthetic, create a subtle texture and light reflective finish, whilst not distracting from the design intent.

With such a space, consideration to acoustics was also required. Bolon offered the high-performance benefits of a hard wood floor with the acoustics properties of textile alternatives.

The maintenance of Bolon also proved to be beneficial and a contributing factor to guarantee the longevity of the flooring over time. Bolon is not only durable, but simple to clean with only a vacuum, mop and water. No harmful chemicals or nasties required which further supports Westpac’s focus on employee wellbeing and the environment.
